"It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Erich von Däniken on January 10, 2026. Our thoughts are with his family. He is also mourned by his friends around the world, the millions of readers of his books, and the many colleagues who had the privilege of working with him for decades. His "Research Society for Archaeology, Astronautics, and SETI" (A.A.S.) and all those interested in paleocontact research have received the news with great sadness."
I discovered Erich when I was eleven and his work had a profound impact on the whole course of my life. It was my great pleasure to speak with him on numerous occasions. His foreword for "Flucht aus Eden" the German-language edition of "Escaping from Eden," his endorsement of my second book of paleocontact, "The Scars of Eden" and his affirmationof me as an author were like the affirmation of a parent.
Erich was an open-handed and generous encourager of all those who have come after him to explore the trail that he first blazed sixty years ago. I shared his delight and amusement that Pope Frances honoured his contribution to humanity when he turned 85 years old. I greatly admired his courage and his understanding of the role of the writer and I will miss him personally. Thank you Onkel Erich for all that you have done to break us out of limited and old thinking and to open us to more boldly explore the nature of reality. Bravo Erich. Vale!!
"Paul Anthony Wallis is one of my best colleagues…a very intelligent and clever personality, a brilliant author and a brilliant man. I just came to his books later! Paul’s point of view, his way of seeing things, his arguments, his indications and also his proofs are enlightening. It will be the new understanding of our world and our religion. Paul has a way of speaking that everyone can understand. His documentaries and philosophies are watched by millions worldwide. I have full respect for him." Erich Von Däniken
"Thank you, Paul, for this heartfelt tribute. Working with Erich on "Skies Afire" was a profound and moving experience, both intellectually and humanly. To continue this journey with you now is just as meaningful. Your friendship and your thoughtful voice honour his legacy in the best possible way." Mauro Biglino
