“ESCAPING FROM EDEN” finds evidence in the pages of Genesis of a world-changing comet impact around 12,000 years ago. The writer of Ecclesiastes in the Bible says that what has happened before will happen again and that just as we have no idea of what and who preceded us so wee too will be forgotten. Was he talking about individuals or civilisations? Perhaps it’s with the latter possibility in mind that over the last week NASA has been modelling an approach to guarding against the next massive comet impact. (Spoiler alert: it didn’t end well!) I wonder, has Hollywood already shown us what we need to do? And does Genesis show us what happened last time?
